This website belongs to Victor Tamarit, an independent director and video editor based in Montreal. This policy explains what personal information the site collects, why it collects it, and what you can do about it.
Who is responsible
Victor Tamarit is responsible for the protection of personal information collected through this site. You can reach him at hola@victortamarit.com.
What the site collects and why
- Contact form. Your name, email address and message. They are used only to reply to you and to follow up on your project. The message is sent to Victor’s email inbox (Gmail, a Google service) and a copy is kept in the website’s database.
- Audience measurement (Google Analytics). If you accept cookies, Google Analytics records how the site is used: pages viewed, time spent, type of device and approximate location based on your IP address. It shows which pages are useful. If you decline, no Google Analytics cookie is placed on your device, and Google only receives anonymous signals, without identifiers, that it uses to estimate overall traffic.
- Server logs. Like any website, the host (OVHcloud) records technical data such as your IP address and browser type to keep the site running and secure.
- Videos. Films are played with Vimeo or YouTube. Vimeo is set to “do not track”. YouTube runs in privacy-enhanced mode and loads nothing until you press play. Once the video starts, YouTube may use its own cookies. Both services receive technical data such as your IP address in order to play the video.
Cookies and your choice
Google Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_…, kept for up to two years) are only placed if you accept them. They are off by default. Your choice is saved in your browser for 12 months. You can change it at any time:
Who has access to your information
Only Victor Tamarit. Your information is never sold. Some service providers process it on his behalf: Google (Gmail, Google Analytics and YouTube), OVHcloud (hosting) and Vimeo (video player). Some of them store data outside Quebec, including in the United States.
How long it is kept
Messages are kept as long as needed to answer you and for the work relationship that may follow, then deleted. Google Analytics data is kept for a maximum of 14 months.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information held about you, to correct it or to have it deleted, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Write to hola@victortamarit.com; you will get an answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with the answer, you can file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
Security
The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and only Victor has access to the messages you send.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with its date.
